Haze lingers into Saturday but a nice summer-like weekend is on tap

Our weather looks dry through Sunday before a few showers creep in for Juneteenth Monday

With a frontal boundary dropping through the commonwealth early on Friday, we saw a pleasant finish to the week across Central and Eastern Kentucky. With a northwest breeze ushering in slightly “cooler” air, afternoon highs struggled to reach the 80 degree mark here in the Bluegrass with low to mid-80s down south. Of course the big story was some thicker…

It was a warm and dry Thursday across Central and Eastern Kentucky but you probably noticed the return of hazy skies due to more smoke particles from the Eastern Canada wildfires drifting into the Ohio Valley. That upper low from earlier this week exiting to the east helped push some of the haze and smoke into the region and we’ve…

Afternoon highs will hang into the low and mid-80s the next few days, which is right around average for this time of year

Despite some scattered cloud cover along and either side of the I-64 corridor, including Lexington and the Bluegrass Region it was a warmer June day across the area on Wednesday. The pesky upper level low started to push eastward but with a spoke of energy rotating on the southwest side of it, clouds thickened up a bit. This didn’t stop…

Breezy and pleasant for mid-June as the upper low to our north moves out

We could see a few isolated showers along and north of I-64 Wednesday as some energy rotates through.

It was a nice Tuesday across Central and Eastern Kentucky, even though temperatures remained a bit below average for mid-June thanks to the upper level low hanging just to our north. After another morning with very cool temperatures into the upper 40s, sunshine and a breezy west wind helped push afternoon highs into the mid-70s in most locations which is…
