Two years of experience in news photography, live van operation and non-linear editing skills are preferred. Candidates must be creative visual storytellers, willing to work flexible hours including weekends and be a team player. A valid driver’s license and clean driving history is a must. PRODUCTION TECH I: Responsible for operation of studio cameras for the newscasts and various shows and promotion production. Additional Responsibilities include set lighting, teleprompter operation, tape machine operation for promos and commercials, and cross-training in Chyron and the audio board. This person must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to climb ladders, build, paint, and erect television production sets. Experience with a MacBook Pro is a plus.The Local Sales Assistance will help develop sales marketing materials, coordinate promotional events and assist with all things digital, including social media marketing coordination. MULTI-MEDIA JOURNALIST: WTVQ Lexington is in search of a Multimedia Journalist to join our news team. This is a news “one-man-band” position that requires the applicant to enterprise stories shoot, write, edit, and present those stories both live and pre-record. All applicants must have a minimum of one-year of employment at a broadcast television or cable station is required. Candidate must have the technical and mechanical abilities associated with use of digital video camera / recorders, Edius non-linear editors, and Dejero live units. CHIEF METEOROLOGIST: WTVQ has an opening for a Chief Meteorologist. We’re looking for an aggressive, energetic leader who keeps weather local and relevant for our central Kentucky viewers. The successful candidate must have a thorough knowledge of the latest weather tools and weather science.Experience covering severe weather and tornadoes is required. Other job responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, formulating and forecasting weather segments, designing graphics and providing leadership to our staff of Meteorologists. A degree in meteorology is required. Previous experience as a Chief Meteorologist, AMS certification and 3-5 years of on-air television experience is preferred. MORNING METEOROLOGIST: WTVQ seeks an energetic Meteorologist to join our “Certified Most Accurate” Weather Team as morning meteorologist. Candidate must be able to provide accurate forecasts using WSI Max Storm technology, work well under pressure, and meet daily deadlines. Additional duties include producing an hour-long mid-morning news / entertainment program in which you would be a live co-host, interview guests, and present weather! One year of prior experience as a broadcast meteorologist / news producer required. Prior knowledge of AP`s ENPS newsroom operating system is a bonus!
