Police say that while responding to the call, Shouse saw a man - later identified as Harris - who fit the description of the suspect and tried to stop him. Harris fled on foot, and Shouse chased after him. Police say that when Shouse turned a corner he was shot.
Life on the run came to a deadly end early Friday for a convicted felon, who was wanted in two states. State Police say 62-year old Floyd Ray Cook, of Lebanon, Kentucky, was shot and killed in an exchange of gunfire with two Kentucky State Troopers and one U.S. Marshal.
The Nicholasville Police Department announced on Wednesday it had doubled the original $5,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect who shot an officer on October 19th.
Nicholasville Police said an officer was injured Friday night while exchanging gunfire with a suspect on Maple Leaf Drive. The officer, whose name hasn't been released, was shot in his ballistic vest. Police said he will be okay.
