Police involved shooting in Covington

COVINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- An officer was shot and another person taken to the hospital Saturday morning in Covington.

State troopers say around 5:30 in the morning Covington Police were called out to a home for a shooting.

A news release says officers had to use deadly force in the home.

It also explains the Covington officer that was shot has non-life threatening injuries.

The other person shot and taken to the hospital was 41-year-old Brad Williams.

Williams is charged with attempted murder of a police officer and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

He is in stable condition in Cincinnati and will be extradited back to Kentucky after he is released from the hospital.
