The body of a man who was credited with saving four family members from flash flooding in Johnson County has been found and identified. The coroner says 34-year old Scott Johnson's body was recovered Friday.
Storms damaged dozens of homes and washed away cars along US 60 in Rowan County Monday. A temporary shelter for storm victims was set up at the Carl D. Perkins Center at 1550 Divide Hill in Morehead, according to Kentucky Emergency Management.
A disaster declaration has been approved by the U.S. Small Business Administration for heavy rain and flash flooding in August that swamped roads and forced people from their homes in eastern Kentucky.
