Officials say 36-year-old Dwayne Thomas Farmer, of Richmond, has pleaded guilty to trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking.
Police have arrested six people in Lexington in connection to a drug trafficking ring in Lexington. According to court documents -- the group was in posession of large amounts of crack cocaine, heroin, marijuana and stolen firearms.
Mattingly pleaded guilty to trafficking and money laundering charges. A release from the U.S. Attorney says Mattingly hid the money in bank accounts and also used it to pay for more marijuana shipments.
A Tennessee man has been sentenced to 188 months in federal prison for conspiring to distribute massive quantities of marijuana and cocaine in central Kentucky, and conspiring to launder approximately one million dollars in drug proceeds.
