Early Wednesday morning police say they found Lowell Washington with several gunshot wounds at an apartment on Dalton court.

Police are asking anyone with information about these shootings to come forward.

Meanwhile, the Lexington community once again hyper aware of gun violence.

One youth advocate and community leader says gun violence is a second pandemic.

“That feeling of oh here we go again,” Marcus Patrick said.

Patrick is the Director of Urban Impact and he helps educate youths in Lexington about building better relationships to overcome obstacles, like turning to guns.

“It’s a community effort. We need to learn how to do a better job of holding one another accountable, especially that we love and care about,” he said.

He says there’s a lot to work on.

“One, we have to learn our limits. We have to learn what our triggers are. We need to know what we can, and what we can’t handle,” Patrick said.

As for the recent shootings all in three days he says it’s saddening.

In the meantime, Lexington police say it’s hoping the community will step up and speak up about this week’s shootings to help uncover more about what happened.
