A Tornado Watch (means conditions are favorable) has been issued for Central KY until 9pm tonight, July 20th, 2018.
The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for portions of our viewing area until 11 PM tonight. Thunderstorms will continue to develop over the next several hours. A few of these thunderstorms will be capable of producing extremely heavy rainfall, damaging winds and an isolated tornado. Stay tuned for further updates.
A cold front will move across Kentucky, bringing the chance for strong to severe thunderstorms.
A Tornado Watch has been issued for most of the ABC 36 viewing area until 9pm tonight. A few tornadoes, gusty winds, large hail, and heavy rain will be possible.
The severe weather threat is over now that a cold front is pushing out of Kentucky. Cooler and less humid weather is in store for early in the workweek.
The tornado watch has been allowed to expire for some counties as planned at 8 p.m. Sunday, but most of the watch has been extended until 2 a.m. Monday.
A line of strong to severe storms will move through the region Saturday night into Sunday morning. The main threat will be damaging winds.
