Caleb Conley named American Legion Post 24’s Law Enforcement Officer of the Year

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WTVQ) — Fallen deputy Caleb Conley was named American Legion Post 24’s Law Enforcement Officer of the Year.

American Legion Post 24 is based in Georgetown, where Conley worked.

“He sure earned it. Thank you for recognizing him. Thank you for inviting us and his family there to honor the service and sacrifice he embodied,” the Scott County Sheriff’s Office said of Post 24.

In May, Conley was shot and killed during a traffic stop in Scott County.

The man accused of killing him has been in and out of court in Scott and Fayette counties since.

In September, the Caleb Conley Foundation was started to support first responders who are killed or injured in the line of duty.
