Wife of fallen London police officer awarded survivor benefit scholarship
LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) — The wife of fallen London police officer Logan Medlock was awarded a scholarship so she or their son won’t have to worry about paying for college.
Robert Underwood with the First Responder Task Force of the Armed Forces Benefit Association gave Courtney Medlock $40,000 in survivor benefits that she or their son, Brantley, can use at any college in the U.S.
Underwood said it was a privilege to present the scholarship to Courtney on Wednesday.
“Sgt. Medlock’s service and dedication to his community was second to none and stands as a testament for all,” the London Police Department wrote in a Facebook post on Wednesday.
Medlock died when an alleged drunk driver crashed into his police cruiser in October 2023.
