UPDATE: South Broadway reopens following gas leak

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – All inbound/eastbound lanes of South Broadway in Lexington reopened Monday night after being closed for hours following a gas leak.

The leak was at South Broadway at Gibson Avenue.

Columbia Gas crews began work immediately making repairs.

All lanes of South Broadway were initially closed in both directions around 2:30 p.m.

Lanes were gradually opened as the afternoon wore on, first the outbound/westbound lanes followed by one inbound/eastbound lane.

The temporary closures led to traffic delays during the afternoon commute.
