Update: New Details In Human Trafficking Case

New details have come to light in the case of a woman who deputies say traded her newborn baby for a pickup truck.

The Laurel County Sheriff’s Department says Heather Kaminskey, 30, traded her son to a Corbin couple, Jeremy Brown, 29, and Jamiee Brown, 32, for a silver 1999 Dodge Dakota.

Deputies say she later sold the truck for $800 and an undisclosed amount of meth.

Officials are searching for Kaminskey, who hasn’t been seen in Laurel County since July 9th. When caught, she’ll have meth and human trafficking charges against her.

Both Browns have been arrested and charged with human trafficking.

A tip led the Sheriff’s Department to the couple, who claimed at first that the boy was from an extramarital affair Jeremy Brown had with Kaminskey.

They later admitted to trading a truck for him six months ago.

The child was taken by social services.

Deputies say Kaminskey has family in Florida, and had two children there that were taken by social services.

Officials add that she left Florida while nine months pregnant to have the baby in Kentucky.

The Laurel County Sheriff’s Department is still searching for Kaminskey.
