Trump and Bevin Protesters arrived in Lexington for Trump rally

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Protesters of President Donald Trump came out to downtown Lexington Monday evening along with protesters of Governor Matt Bevin.

Some held signs taking jabs at both President Trump and Governor Bevin.

One sign read, “No Bevin. Failed in Kentucky. No Trump.”

Protesters also could be seen with Andy Beshear signs.

They wanted to encourage everyone to go vote Tuesday.

One protester, Arthur Rouse,  said he wanted Beshear as Governor so there is not only more progessive leadership in the state, but also in the country.

“I think we need more progressive leadership i think that Mr. Trump hasn’t done much of anything for the country i think it’s rubbed off on Matt Bevin they seem to see eye to eye on a lot of things. I think the tariffs have been terrible for the farmers the sheet metal workers. A lot of folks here will tell you the same thing,” said Rouse.

Rouse also said he is not concerned that President Trump’s visit is going to hurt Beshear on election day while many other protesters felt the same.
