Traveling P.O.W. M.I.A flag makes it’s way to Kentucky

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – On this Mother’s Day, a group of riders are honoring those who never came home to their mothers.

Members of Rolling Thunder Kentucky Chapter 5, are carrying a very special P.O.W M.I.A. flag across the bluegrass state, the last leg of it’s journey through all fifty states.

A Vietnam Veteran came up with the idea.

He wanted the flag to travel across the U.S., honoring the thousands that have never been found.

Sunday, he achieved his goal.

“There are still 14 Kentucky Vietnam M.I.A.’s that never came home. We are going to take it around to 14 different places where we find memorials and markers and recognize them in our short period of time.”

After it’s time in Kentucky, the flag will pass the Korean War Memorial, then on Memorial Day it will arrive at it’s final destination, the Smithsonian Museum in Washington D.C.
