Travelers scramble at Blue Grass Airport to beat storm

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Air travelers scrambled at Lexington’s Blue Grass Airport on Thursday to try to get a flight out ahead of an approaching snowstorm. All major airlines are offering travel waivers to people who are booked to fly to the Northeast or Mid-Atlantic on Friday or Saturday.

As of Thursday evening, nearly 1,000 flights had already been canceled across the country and an estimated 60-million people were under a winter weather alert due to the massive storm.

If you have a flight scheduled in or out of Blue Grass Airport or any airport this weekend, check ahead of time to see if the flight is delayed or canceled.
