TRAFFIC ALERT: I-64 pothole repairs continue, I-75 lane closures announced

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) is alerting motorists to a couple of road projects going on in the area over the next few days.

First, pothole repair work is continuing Friday in Fayette County along I-64.  Crews will be working around mile 89.48 (the southern split at the Fayette/Clark County line,) until 3:30 p.m.  KYTC reminds drivers that pothole patching is a mobile operation, and motorists need to be watchful for signage and flashing arrows around work zones. Drivers wanting to report a pothole can call 1-877-FOR-KYTC (1-877-367-5982) or 1-800 PATCH IT (1-800-728-2448.)  Potholes can also be reported online at http://transportation.ky.gov/Pages/Report-a-Pothole.aspx.

In a separate project scheduled to begin Monday, KYTC says guardrail installation will be taking place on the I-75 bridge over I-64.  The installation will continue into Tuesday, with work being done from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on both days.  KYTC says that during work hours, two lanes will be closed on I-75 at milepoint 117.7.  One lane will remain open during those hours, however, KYTC is advising drivers that long delays are likely, so alternate routes should definitely be considered.
