Tow truck drivers are extra busy during winter weather

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Tow truck operators say they expect it to be extra busy when the city gets snow.

Jordan Woods has been a tow truck driver for three years.

He says he’s usually working crashes at intersections and on interstates especially in the morning when traffic is typically worse.

In Lexington, he believes the worst spots are New Circle Road and the intersection of Richmond Road and Man O’ War Blvd.

“We have to succeed where sometimes other people fail,” said Jordan Woods.

It’s dangerous work. Just like first responders, Woods is often in the middle of the road.

“We’re pulling up on it. We know what we got to do. We do it as fast as we can and be as careful as possible,” said Woods.

Woods says no matter what he responds to he says he works efficiently so he can help get the roads back open.

Woods says if you see a tow truck, slow down and give them room to work.
