ABC 36 is teaming up with the other television stations in Lexington and United Way of the Bluegrass to produce a half-hour special that will air August 22 at 7:00 p.m. It will be broadcast simultaneously on all four channels to bring awareness to issues facing Central Kentucky and encourage communities to "unite" to solve those issues.
The United Way of the Bluegrass is partnering with local Wal-Mart stores for its annual “Fill the Truck.” The goal is to fill a truck with new toys and coats for children who are in need this holiday season.
The United Way of the Bluegrass has suspended funding for the Boy Scouts of America, Blue Grass Council. Local Boy Scout Executives said the United Way was their largest single contributor, making up 5 percent of their total budget.
