Summer like conditions prevail for weekend

The rinse and repeat pattern is still with us

We’ll start today and each day this weekend with the chance for some patchy fog. The sun will be quick to shine, though, with partly to mostly cloudy skies. Cumulus clouds will be abundant and will potentially develop into a few isolated showers each afternoon. A few could be unlucky enough to get caught in a brief downpour, but the good news is that most of us will stay fully dry.

Temperatures are on the rise

Today will be a few degrees warmer than yesterday in the low 90s, with us rising a bit each day before we peak in the mid-90s on Sunday. Deqpoints will be in the low 70s, causing feels like temperatures to reach near the triple digits. This is trending into the beginning of our next work week as well, with the potential for the heat index to reach near heat advisory levels.

How to stay weather aware this weekend

Be sure to keep the water bottle nearby, as it will be easy to get dehydrated in that summer heat. This is because sweat has a hard time evaporating when there’s so much humidity! Also, be sure to use sunscreen, broad-spectrum, and at least SPF 30. The UV index will be in the very high 8-10 range, meaning that sunburn can occur in as little as 20 minutes. Even though we will have some cloud cover, UV rays can actually bounce off of those clouds and intensify, making it all the more important to stay on top of that sun-block.
