Substitute teacher removed from school in Lexington
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A substitute teacher was escorted out of Northern Elementary School in Lexington on Wednesday after reportedly making inappropriate comments to students, according to Fayette County Public Schools.
The school district didn’t specify what comments were reportedly made to the pupils.
The teacher’s name wasn’t released.
Below is a news release sent to ABC 36 News Wednesday night from FCPS:
“Fayette County Public Schools has high standards for conduct and behavior for all employees. We had an incident this afternoon at Northern Elementary in which a substitute teacher made inappropriate and unacceptable comments to students. As soon as the principal learned of the situation, she took immediate action to remove the substitute from the building and followed district procedures to exclude the individual from future sub assignments. We will pursue this matter to the fullest extent as this conduct is absolutely intolerable.”
The school system says the reported incident is still under investigation.
