Snow Not Uncommon For November
On the east side of Lexington, we picked up just under an inch of snow Monday morning at ABC 36.
On the opposite side of the city, Blue Grass Airport only recorded one tenth of an inch of snow Monday morning.
As expected, higher snow totals came in from north of I-64.
In Scott County, reports showed between one and two inches of snow, covering the grass, sidewalks, and streets.
While the snow may seam too early in the year, this first measurable snowfall in Lexington is just slightly earlier than the average.
The first measurable snowfall on average is November 29th, just less than two weeks away.
We had our first trace of snow this year on October 31st, which on average occurs November 12th.
While we’ve already had a couple blasts of arctic air and now snow, it does not indicate a cold or snowy winter to come.
