Risk for strong to severe storms today

We need to prepare for another risk for strong to severe storms today, especially in the afternoon and evening hours, as a strong low pressure system and cold front approach from the west/northwest. All forms of severe weather are possible, including damaging winds, large hail, flash flooding and even an isolated tornado.

Be prepared today with your severe weather plan in place and know where you’re going to go in case of extreme weather. If you live in Lexington or the surrounding areas, do not rely on your NOAA Weather Radio today, as it is undergoing a system update.
