Rain forces road closures, causes accidents overnight
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Heavy rain and high waters caused road closures and two accidents overnight in Lexington.
According to Lexington Police, the first accident happened shortly after 1 a.m. Tuesday on the inner loop of New Circle Road and Versailles Road.
Police say someone driving a pickup truck lost control and hit another vehicle, forcing it into the median.
They say no one was hurt.
Police say the second accident happened right after 3 a.m., with two vehicles colliding with each other.
They say no was injured.
Centre Parkway near Greentree Road and New Circle Road near Liberty Road were temporarily closed overnight due to high water, according to police.
Police say they also responded to several other high water calls overnight.
