President scheduled to speak tonight at 7 p.m.
LEXINGTON, Ky (WTVQ) – The President is scheduled to speak Monday night at 7 p.m.
Where you would usually catch a basketball game or a concert the President of the United States will be making an election-eve pitch to voters encouraging them to vote for his friend republican Matt Bevin.
This is the President’s second visit to the bluegrass state in less than three months.
He was here in August to speak to veterans and attend a private fundraiser for the Bevin campaign.
This time, he is here for a “Keep America Great” rally as part of his own re-election campaign but he has called it “A Rally for Governor Matt Bevin” on Twitter.
Throughout the Governor’s re-election campaign he has been appealing to Trump supporters using the President’s popularity in the state.
Governor Bevin has applauded the President’s approach to strengthening the economy and his take on immigration.
ABC 36 political adviser Dr. Stephen Voss says it is unlikely Trump having won over Kentucky in the presidential election will mean Governor Bevin is a shoe to be re-elected.
Voss also said if Governor Bevin loses the re-election bid that doesn’t have any negative correlation for President Trump in his 2020 re-election campaign.
