Pleasant weather continues into the weekend
Saturday looks good before our rain chances return
After a chilly start to the morning, Friday brought a welcome return to spring with sunshine and highs climbing into the mid to upper 50s across Central and Eastern Kentucky. That warming trend sticks around as we head into the weekend, but changes are on the way by Sunday.
A Picture-Perfect Saturday
If you have outdoor plans, Saturday is the day to take advantage of the weather! Expect mostly sunny skies with afternoon highs reaching the upper 50s to low 60s. A light breeze out of the west will make for a comfortable, spring-like feel.
Sunday Turns Wet and Breezy
Sunday will bring a major shift in the weather as our next storm system moves in from the west. Clouds will increase through the morning, followed by widespread rain developing by the afternoon and evening. A few thunderstorms are possible, though severe weather looks unlikely at this time. Highs will warm into the mid-60s, but keep the rain gear handy if you’re heading out. Gusty winds will also accompany the system, making for a damp and breezy end to the weekend.
A Mild and Seasonal Start to Next Week
After an early morning shower Monday, drier air returns with partly sunny skies and highs in the upper 50s. Temperatures will remain seasonable through midweek, with occasional weak disturbances bringing low-end rain chances, especially on Tuesday and Thursday. These will be light and spotty showers rather than a washout, with highs staying in the upper 50s to near 60—right where we should be for late March.
Friday Night: Clearing skies, breezy and cold. Lows in the upper-20s.
Saturday: Mostly sunny, breezy and milder! Highs in the mid to uper-50s.
Saturday Night: A few clouds and pleasantly cool. Lows in the mid-40s.
