Paris Library Damaged By High Winds

Construction crews who are renovating and expanding the Paris Public Library have a lot more work to do after the library was damaged by high winds Monday morning.

The Paris Fire Department said a brick wall, which is part of the expansion, blew over during the high winds around 10:30 in the morning, and fell onto the original library.

The library sustained significant damage to its side, with part of the wall collapsing.

The original library was empty when the wall fell due to the renovations.

Construction workers who were close to the wall when it fell were not injured.

This isn’t the first construction delay for the library project.

Lightning struck the library in August, pushing the completion date back 3 months to October 2015.

Now the library director just hopes the project is done by the end of 2015.
