Noah’s Ark construction asks for tax dollars

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) – A federal judge has scheduled a hearing Wednesday on a lawsuit filed by a Christian ministry building a massive Noah’s Ark tourist attraction.

The ministry, Answers in Genesis, wants the judge to temporarily reinstate the group’s tourism tax benefit that was withdrawn by Kentucky officials late last year.

State officials say tax dollars cannot contribute to proselytizing (attempting to convert others). Kentucky officials will ask during the hearing that the suit be dismissed.
