National Weather Service assessing damage in Richmond

RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) – The National Weather Service (NWS) arrived in Madison Co. Wednesday, trying to figure out the extent of the storm damage there.

Storms caused severe damages in some areas.  On Rainbow Road, shingles were ripped off a roof and a porch at one home, and windows were broken.  No one was at the home at the time.  Meanwhile, just next door, a trailer was pushed a few feet off of the foundation.  That family was home, but no one was seriously injured.

At this time, the NWS is confirming that an EF-0 tornado was part of the severe weather in the area, and say an EF-1 tornado formed in other parts of Madison Co.
