Mild Veterans Day, Yet Much Colder Air Ahead
MIDNIGHT UPDATE: Clouds have continued to stream across Kentucky, with steady southerly winds keeping our temperatures from falling very fast. Tuesday morning low temperatures will start off chilly, in the mid 40s, with afternoon high temperatures reaching 63 degrees. Tuesday will feature increasing clouds, wind gusts around 25 mph, and the chance for light rain showers late in the day. A cold front moves through Tuesday night, with high temperatures only in the lower 40s for Wednesday afternoon. The cold air continues for the end of the work week, with high temperatures in the mid 30s Thursday and Friday.
TUESDAY/VETERANS DAY: Skies will become mostly cloudy Tuesday afternoon, with the chance for late day rain showers developing. Tuesday afternoon high temperatures will be around 63 degrees. Wind gusts up to 25 mph will also be possible Tuesday afternoon.
TUESDAY NIGHT: Light rain showers will continue Tuesday evening into early Wednesday morning, with overnight low temperatures around 36 degrees.
WEDNESDAY: A cold front will move through late Tuesday into early Wednesday, with temperatures falling during Wednesday afternoon. Wednesday high temperatures will be around 42 degrees, yet fall into the 30s late Wednesday afternoon.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Skies will be partly cloudy Wednesday night, with overnight low temperatures around 26 degrees.
THURSDAY: Much colder, arctic air continues late this week, with afternoon high temperatures in the mid to upper 30s! Skies will be partly cloudy, with a high temperature of 35 degrees Thursday.
THURSDAY NIGHT: We will have a few clouds and frigid overnight low temperatures falling to around 19 degrees.
FRIDAY: Partly cloudy skies and cold conditions continue for Friday, with an afternoon high temperature of 36.
FRIDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear to partly cloudy skies will be around for Friday night, with overnight low temperatures around 21 degrees by daybreak Saturday.
SATURDAY: Skies will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy, with a cold afternoon high temperature of 39 degrees.
SUNDAY: Cold air will continue to be over the region, and with a weather disturbance moving near Kentucky on Sunday, there will be a chance for snow showers and a rain-snow mix. Sunday afternoon high temperatures will be around 37 degrees.
