Mainly dry across the region for the upcoming weekend
It will be hot with highs back in the low 90s
It was a classic early August day across Central and Eastern Kentucky to close out the week Friday. Sunshine mixed with a few scattered clouds pushed afternoon highs into the upper 80s to near 90°, with just enough humidity to make it feel a bit warmer. While a few isolated storms managed to bubble up in the afternoon heat, coverage was much lower than earlier in the week — a trend we’ll carry into the weekend.
A Perfect Summer Saturday
High pressure overhead will keep most of us dry Saturday, and temperatures will respond by climbing into the low 90s. Humidity will be typical for this time of year, making it feel just a touch hotter. It’s a great day for outdoor plans, whether you’re heading to the pool, the lake, or a backyard cookout — just remember the sunscreen and stay hydrated.
Hot and Humid Sunday
The upper-level ridge will hang on through Sunday, sending highs back into the low 90s. “Feels-like” readings could push into the upper 90s during the afternoon. A stray storm can’t be ruled out, but most will stay dry.
⛈ Increasing Storm Chances Next Week
Moisture begins to creep back in on Monday, giving us a small bump in isolated storm chances. A stalled front to our north will bring scattered storms Tuesday into midweek. Any storm that pops up could produce heavy downpours and gusty winds, but widespread severe weather isn’t expected. Temperatures will stay locked in the upper 80s and low 90s through the middle of the month.
