Local Criminal Mind Profiler Discusses Boston Suspects
He says he’s never seen a manhunt like the one in Boston.
The second suspect was found still in the same town where Thursday night’s shootout occurred.
Some may wonder why he didn’t flee the area, especially with thousands of law enforcement agents scouring the area.
"It tells me one, he’s not a professional, he’s 19 and he has no resources and this maybe a personal vendetta on the part of him and his brother. They may not have any significant connections to other terrorists. They may not of had a way out." Dr. Granacher said.
In the coming days, experts across the nation will discuss and debate why intelligence and law enforcement never picked up on the suspects.
Dr. Granacher says it’s because they don’t fit the bill of a normal terrorist.
"Stop and think when was the last time you heard a high school teacher turning in a student for being a potential terrorist. They’re not recognizable when they’re young."
Dr. Granacher says law enforcement will gain a great deal of knowledge about domestic terrorism from this past week, especially now with a suspect in custody.
"I hate that we have to get the data this way, but the police and the FBI in particular will roll this back moment by moment and put together a portfolio on how to handle this kind of home grown terrorism." Dr. Granacher said.
