Lexington schools well-represented on 2015 Niche rankings

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- Lexington public schools are well-represented in Niche’s 2015 rankings of the top schools in the state.

According to the research site Niche, four Lexington elementary schools rank among the top five in the state. They include Ashland Elementary, Glendover Elementary, Maxwell Spanish Immersion Elementary and Meadowthorpe Elementary. Click here to see the entire list.

The report says the top Kentucky middle schools include Morton Middle School, SCAPA at Bluegrass (School for the Creative & Performing Arts, Edythe J. Hayes Middle School and Beaumont Middle School in Lexington. The entire list can be found here.

Meanwhile, Model Laboratory High School in Richmond is ranked the third best in the state, according to Niche. And in Lexington, Paul Laurence Dunbar High School is ranked 7th. Click here to see the list.

Niche says the rankings are also broken down by factors such as academic grades, student culture and diversity, teachers grades, sports and fitness and parent/ student surveys on overall experience.

The website also says, "By incorporating millions of opinions from more than 300,000 students and parents, dozens of statistical factors, and millions of student outcomes, we’re confident these are the most comprehensive K-12 school and district rankings to date."
