According to new accountability data released by Kentucky's Department of Education, seven Fayette County schools need comprehensive changes to improve student achievement, along with 25 schools which need "targeted" intervention.
The Fayette County Board of Education on Monday voted on names for the district's two newest elementary schools. The school under construction at 2441 Huntly Place will be 'Coventry Oak Elementary,' and the school being built at 1150 Passage Mound Way will be 'Garrett Morgan Elementary.'
Lexington public schools are well-represented in Niche's 2015 rankings of the top schools in the state. According to the research site Niche, four Lexington elementary schools rank among the top five in the state. They include Ashland Elementary, Glendover Elementary, Maxwell Spanish Immersion Elementary and Meadowthorpe Elementary. Click here to see the entire list.
