Lexington parks to host ‘First Day Hikes’ on New Year’s day

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Made a New Year’s resolution to exercise more? Lexington residents could start soon after the ball drops.

For the past few years, a group of people in Lexington have come together to take hikes at different parks on New Year’s day.

The hikes are hosted by Lexington Parks & Recreation and are free to the public.

They will be held at Raven Run Nature Sanctuary and McConnell Springs.

There will also be a separate hike, hosted by Leave No Trace Adventures, at Natural Bridge State Resort Park in the Red River Gorge.
