UPDATE: Escaped Suspect Arrested in Woodford County

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – 43-year-old Walter Hundley, who was captured by Dayton, Kentucky police, taken to the hospital for treatment, escaped and stole a car, was spotted and pursued by police Tuesday evening in Franklin County but got away, was arrested Wednesday in Woodford County, where he has been taken to the hospital.

The merry-go-round of Hundley’s incarceration began the evening of November 14th, when officers initiated a manhunt for Hundley, who had disappeared from St. Elizabeth Hospital in Fort Thomas after being brought their for medical treatment while in custody on a wanton endangerment charge.

On Tuesday evening, Troopers say a tip that Hundley was at the Buffalo Wild Wings in Frankfort led them to the stolen vehicle.  Hundley, meanwhile, saw investigators, took off running, and was able to evade capture.

On Wednesday, Kentucky State Police say Hundley was again seen walking along the side of Leestown Road in Woodford County.

Officers were able to capture him without incident at about 1:00 p.m., and he was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries he received overnight.

Kentucky State Police say a Lexington man who escaped police custody while receiving medical treatment at the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Fort Thomas was spotted in Frankfort.

Troopers say they received a tip Tuesday evening at around 8:00 p.m. that 43-year-old Walter Hundley was seen at the Buffalo Wild Wings on Jett Boulevard.

When investigators arrived, they say they found a stolen car from Campbell County believed to have been taken by Hundley.

Police say while they were checking out the car, Hundley saw them and took off running.

Officers ran after Hundley, but lost him, even with the assistance of backup Franklin County law enforcement and a helicopter called in from Lexington.

Hundley remains at large, wanted on a wanton endangerment charge.

Lexington Man Escapes from Dayton, KY Police

A manhunt was underway Monday night for a Lexington man who reportedly escaped a Dayton, Kentucky police custody.

WCPO says 43-year-old Walter Hundley disappeared around 3:30p.m.  from St. Elizabeth Hospital in Fort Thomas. It says Hundley was getting medical treatment when he ran out of the hospital’s back entrance.

Hundley had reportedly been in custody in Dayton on a wanton endangerment charge.
