Lexington activates weather plan during annual homeless count

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- The Office of Homelessness Prevention & Intervention Weather Plan is in effect due to cold temperatures in Lexington.

LexTran will offer free rides to shelters. The Hope Center Street Outreach and the Compassionate Caravan will not operate as normal Wednesday evening because of the annual Point-In-Time LexCount.

As part of the count, more than 70 volunteers will go out across the city to count the homeless and offer rides to shelters.

The weather plan will remain in effect through Thursday.
