Kentucky Crops Go From Bad To Worse

Because of the heat, Kentucky crops are going from bad to worse.

The National Agricultural Statistic Service reported Tuesday that the amount of corn that was rated good-to-excellent, fell by 19-percent in just one week because of dry weather and 100-degree temperatures.

The state’s corn crop, according to the Service is:

  • 48-percent poor or very poor.
  • 32-percent fair.
  • 19-percent good.
  • 1-percent excellent.

The Service report said the state’s soybean crop is also suffering due to the weather conditions.
