Intermittent lane closures scheduled for intersections in Madison County

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Some Madison County intersections will be closed for different time periods Tuesday through Thursday.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Department of Highways, says thermoplastic marking operations are scheduled for intersections in Madison County.

Short term stoppages are necessary for markings to be installed and retraced.  The markings improve reflectivity and visibility.

Below is a list of scheduled closings from the transportation department.

Tuesday, June 5 through Thursday, June 28

o   Sunday evenings through Thursday mornings – 6:30 p.m. each evening until 6 a.m. each morning

Installation and retracing will take place for the following locations:

  • US 25X – between milepoints .412 and 3.401
  • US 25 – between milepoints 15.44 and 27.80
  • KY 876 – between milepoints .065 and 9.955
  • KY 388 – between milepoints .065 and 9.955

Motorists should be aware of short term stoppages and signage directing of the work.

Delays could be 15 – 20 minutes at a time.

All work is subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
