High winds cause problems around Lexington
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – High winds brought down trees and caused power outages around Lexington on Thursday afternoon.
Crews with Kentucky Utilities were called to Crescent Avenue and Waller Avenue just before 4 p.m. to repair power lines that were taken down by a large tree that fell.
The Lexington Police Department responded to the scene and says no one was hurt and no cars or homes were damaged by the fallen tree.
At one point, Kentucky Utilities was reporting more that 4,000 customers without power.
The number was down to 1,300 customers by 5:30 p.m.
