Finally a calm weather pattern ahead
We have entered a much needed break from our active pattern
Lexington, Kentucky (WTVQ – ABC 36): Good Thursday everyone and welcome to February. Mother Nature did not get the memo that we have entered February as it feels more like the first day of March outside today with temperatures hitting the low to mid 50s. This is all part of an above average temperature pattern setting up for the next week and change along with a much more calmer weather pattern. Temperatures tonight drop it into the mid to upper 30s under a partly clear sky.
High temperatures on our Friday may come in a few degrees cooler than today with upper 40s to near 50. A partly cloudy sky will be noted. A sprinkle or very light shower can’t be ruled out during the first half of the day, but most stay dry.
Once into the weekend, we look to string together a few very nice days together. Saturday – Monday looks pretty fantastic for this time of year with temperatures hitting the low to mid 50s under a mostly sunny sky. Lows each night will still be cold into the low 30s. There is a stray shower chance down south on Monday, but it continues to trend even further south.
Tuesday/Wednesday of next week could see temperatures back down again into the upper 40s to low 50s as we see a backdoor cold front enter the picture with an east wind. This looks like a moisture starved cold front, meaning we shouldn’t see any rain with it… it will just knock temperatures down a few degrees.
As you can see, there is not a chance for rain for our entire area over the next 7 days.
Temperatures also remain above average through the end of next week for most of the country.
As always, stay with the ABC 36 Storm Team for updates. #kywx
