Danville woman arrested after chained dog found dead

DANVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Boyle County woman was arrested Friday after police say they found a dead dog chained up outside in an area desecrated with molded food and feces.

Danville Police say 38-year old Kimberly Naylor, of Danville, was charged with Cruelty to Animals 2nd Degree on Friday.

Police say they were called to the home on Adams Street in reference to a dead dog chained up in the backyard.

Officers say they found the animal chained near the rear door of the home in a confined area that didn’t have adequate shelter.

Animal Control was called to the scene.  Investigators say they repeatedly banged on the front and back door of the home, but no one answered.

Upon knocking, officers say they could hear dogs barking inside.  Police say they had to breach the front door to Animal Control could check on the welfare of the animals inside the home.

Police say once inside, they found Naylor standing in the kitchen.  She was taken to jail.  Three dogs were removed from the home by Animal Control.

Investigators say Animal Control will follow-up with additional charges.
