Concert traffic sour note for Luke Bryan fans
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Some fans of country music star Luke Bryan were angry and frustrated after sitting in traffic for hours trying to get into his outdoor concert at Talon Winery in Lexington on Tuesday night. Despite pre-planning and traffic control, the line of cars along Tates Creek Road stretched an estimated 9-miles from the venue. Some people abandoned their cars and walked miles to the concert site. At least one walker was reportedly hit by a car. Some people reported running out of gas sitting in line.
Hearing of the traffic trouble, Bryan delayed the start of his show until more fans could make it into the concert. The show itself was postponed from last Thursday due to rain. On Tuesday night, the weather was perfect, but the traffic was not. Some people told ABC 36 News they planned to sleep in their cars in the winery field after the show instead of sitting in traffic for hours again trying to get home.
