Compassionate Caravan activated as temperatures plummet

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Bitterly cold temperatures are activating the Compassionate Caravan across the city.
Volunteers will gather at 6:00 p.m., at 772 Winchester Road, next to McDonald’s.  From there, the caravan will seek out people caught in the elements, dropping them off at shelters, or providing blankets and warm clothing.
The Catholic Action Center says until the freezing temperatures loosen their hold on the city, they will remain open 24 hours a day providing shelter for those in need.

They are looking for donations from the public, in the form of paper products, food, garbage bags, cleaning supplies, and warm clothing or blankets.
