A cold front brings showers and relief from the heat

A mostly calm morning

A few showers in the early morning have lingered to the north and west, but most have started their day out dry. These showers are expected to fizzle out by late morning, and we’ll be dry but cloudy to start. Temperatures are expected to be mild in the upper 60s to low 70s.

A more active afternoon

As the cold front continues to push into the bluegrass region, rain chances will pick up right around lunchtime. These will mainly be along and south of I-64, as behind the front will see calmer, more stable conditions. Ahead of the front will be scattered showers and thunderstorms. Not everyone will see rainfall, but most will see at least a bit of rain as we head into the evening. After the sunsets, the cold front will be completely to our south, leaving us dry, calm, and cool for the overnight.

The rest of the week

Temperatures will stick to near average in the mid to upper 80s with cloud cover for much of Thursday and Friday. We could see a bit of drizzle in the afternoons, but this chance will be very isolated, and almost everyone will be dry, but gloomy. Heading into the weekend, we’re expected another cold front to move through. This will bring us an isolated shower chance Saturday and Sunday, and will also cause another drop in temperatures, with us trending below average by the start of next week.
