Students brave cold to attend basketball game

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- With so many cancellations and closures caused by snow and cold, it would be easy to think no one wants to get up off the couch.

Wednesday night, some Transylvania students went from one couch, to another. You could argue, it’s the best seat in the house. Likely, it’s the most comfortable and for three "Transy" students, it was surely worth braving the cold for.

"It’s just a two minute walk from where I live so it wasn’t too bad."

That two minute walk, all for 40-some-odd minutes of basketball; enough to keep the mind off the bone chilling cold, if only for the evening.
With a nice view and a warm seat, Emily, Ryne and Erin need not think about the temperature only feet outside the Clive Beck Center.

"It was a nice break from studies and then I really like to watch basketball games."

"It’s a small campus and I really wanted to come to the game."

Trading the whistling of chilling winds for the squeak of sneakers and the jeers of students is enough to keep anyone content, knowing what the outside will bring.

But as the clock winds down until the next class, those tones might change.

"Yes, because it can be a rough morning."
