Rain Showers Linger Tonight With Cooler Air Ahead

MIDNIGHT UPDATE:  Rain showers will taper off through the morning hours of Wednesday, with the best chance for rain lingering across Southeast Kentucky.  Skies will clear through the day Wednesday, with partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies during the afternoon, and a high of 60 degrees.  Wednesday night will be chilly with mostly clear skies and overnight low temperatures around 38 degrees by daybreak Thursday.  Thursday will continue with mostly sunny skies, with an afternoon high temperature of 56 degrees.  Friday will feature mostly cloudy skies with scattered rain showers during the afternoon and evening.  Temperatures will be cool for Friday afternoon, with a high of 54 degrees.  You’ll want to have some extra layers on and some rain gear for any Friday evening Halloween activities, or for Friday night high school football games.  Friday evening temperatures will generally be in the 40s, making for a chilly evening.  The cooldown continues this weekend, with a high of only 46 degrees on Saturday, and 52 degrees on Sunday.  Both Saturday and Sunday morning low temperatures will start off in the upper 20s to lower 30s.

Rain showers will be possible through tonight as a cold front moves through Kentucky.  Much cooler air returns Wednesday through the weekend, with the chance for rain showers Halloween evening.  At or below freezing temperatures return for Saturday and Sunday mornings.

TONIGHT:  A cold front will move through tonight, with rain showers continuing, and colder air moving into Kentucky.  Overnight low temperatures will be around 49 degrees by Wednesday morning.

WEDNESDAY:  There will be a chance for a few rain showers early Wednesday morning across Southeast Kentucky, with clearing skies through the day.  Wednesday afternoon high temperatures will be around 60 degrees.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT:  Mostly clear skies will continue for Wednesday night, as temperatures fall to around 38 degrees by early Thursday morning.  With the cold temperatures around Thursday morning, there will be a chance for patchy frost.

THURSDAY:  Mostly sunny skies and cool temperatures will be around for Thursday, with an afternoon high temperature of 56 degrees.

FRIDAY:  Cool temperatures continue for Friday, with mostly cloudy skies and scattered rain showers as a weather disturbance moves across the region.  With colder air moving in Friday evening, there is even the chance for a few snowflakes or sleet to mix in with the rain Friday night.  Wear extra layers under your Halloween costume and have some rain gear, if you are going to be outside.

WEEKEND:  Saturday and Sunday mornings will start off in the upper 20s to lower 30s.  Saturday’s afternoon high temperature will only reach 46 degrees.  Sunday will remain cool, with an afternoon high temperature of 52 degrees.  Skies will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy.  ***We will “fall back” to standard time officially at 2am Sunday morning.  So make sure you turn your clocks BACK one hour before going to be Saturday night.***

EARLY NEXT WEEK:  Temperatures will be around 60 degrees for next Monday and Tuesday with partly cloudy skies on Monday, and the chance for some late day rain on Tuesday.
