Malachi Moreno to declare for 2026 NBA Draft; leaves door open for return to Kentucky
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 News Now) — Malachi Moreno has announced his decision to declare for the 2026 NBA Draft while leaving the door open for a return to Kentucky.
Moreno, a native of Georgetown, Kentucky, was the 2025 Kentucky Mr. Basketball and a member of the 2025 KHSAA Boys Basketball State Champion Great Crossing Warhawks before arriving at Kentucky.
As a freshman, Moreno averaged 7.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.0 assist per game.
Moreno will go through the NBA Draft process before making a decision on whether to return to Kentucky.
He will participate in the NBA Draft Combine from May 10–17 in Chicago, Illinois.
The deadline to withdraw from the draft is 11:59 p.m. on May 27, 2026.
