Kentucky women’s basketball tops Belmont 77-69, moves to 11-1
NASHVILLE, Tn. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – Kentucky women’s basketball earned a 77-69 victory over Belmont behind a balanced offensive effort on Sunday afternoon in Nashville.
Amelia Hassett led the Wildcats with a strong double-double, scoring 19 points and grabbing 10 rebounds while knocking down five three-pointers on 14 attempts. Jordan Obi also posted a double-double, finishing with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Kentucky’s depth was on full display as Tonie Morgan and Clara Strack each scored 18 points. Morgan also controlled the tempo offensively, handing out nine assists to keep the Wildcats’ attack flowing.
Kentucky shot 40 percent from the field and 26 percent from three-point range. They also out-rebounded the bruins 49-29, doing enough on both ends to secure the win.
