SAVANNAH, Ga. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — The Kentucky Wildcats completed a comeback to win the SEC Tournament Championship over the Texas Longhorns, 3–2. Kentucky lost the first two sets of the match before completing a reverse sweep of the Longhorns.
The top-ranked Cats fought off multiple championship points in the third set to take the set, then followed it up with two more set wins. Kentucky libero Molly Tuozzo was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.
Kentucky finishes SEC regular-season and tournament play a perfect 18–0 and should be a No. 1 seed in the upcoming NCAA Tournament. The Wildcats are expected to host in Lexington next weekend for the opening rounds.
