No. 23 Kentucky women’s basketball moves to 5-0 after dominant win over Marshall

HUNTINGTON, Wv. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – Kentucky rolled to a 76–44 win over Marshall, improving to 5-0 on the season.

Four players finished in double figures. Jordan Obi led the way with 17 points, while Asia Boone added 14. Clara Strack recorded another strong double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds, and Teonni Key scored 10.

Point guard Tonie Morgan continued her elite playmaking, handing out 11 assists after her 16-assist performance against USC Upstate.

Kentucky has now had a different leading scorer in each of its first five games.

Marshall is coached by former Transylvania women’s basketball Head Coach Juli Fulks. Kenny Brooks said he has tremendous respect for the program she’s building. He added that Kentucky was intentional in scheduling this matchup, noting that “her system essentially mirrors a little bit of what we are going to see.”

Next up, the cats host Purdue on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Historical Memorial Coliseum.
